Photo caption: | 55 gallon African cichlid tank, before it became a sand pit! All my decorations have been literally swallowed, due to their spawning behavior...grr... |
Description: | I have four tanks. One 55 gallon with grow outs of a spawn of yellow labs, and a cantankerous full grown CAE! One 29 gallon South American tank with tetras, rams, rasboras, and catfish. One 29 gallon with two pearl gouramis, and 10 tetras (diamond, black skirt, and silver tip) and four corydoras. One 15 gallon tank with two mature Apongeton plants, a betta, little tetras and rasboras, and about a million Malaysian trumpet snails. Loads of fun...better than TV, isn't it? |
Advice: | You don't need carbon in your freshwater fish tank. Use that valuable space for biological media! Lots of bio media is the secret to a healthy fish tank, along with weekly water changes. Read and research.. and relax! Appreciate your fish.

Fish: | All kinds, most community fish and enough mbuna to know what keeps 'em happy. Never tried goldfish (too messy...better in a pond!) and would never again keep a common pleco in my tank. Can you say, poop factory? |
Corals/Plants: | I don't have the lighting that live plants require, nor the budget to run all those watts! |
