More Info

State: Virginia
Country: United States
Description: Topfin 150 gallon space saving aquarium with a glass canopy, fluorescent light and black stand. Were all sold to me as a package deal from Petsmart. Tank: 24"L x 48"W x 30"H. Running two hanging 110 gallon Aqua Clear Fluval Power Filters. Equipped with two heaters, 300 Aqueon Submersible Aquarium Heaters.
Advice: If you are a new hobbyists like myself I would suggest doing a bit of research prior to buying any equipment.I wish I had brought the Fluval 6x cannister filter. I still can but I opted for the hanging filters instead due to past experience with those when I owned a 10 gallon tank in my youth. You can always over filter so I been told to make your water crystal clear. All tanks go through a cloudy period when you first set up your tank. So don't panic. Its part of your tank "adjusting" itself. Don't leave your hood light on more than the recommended time to avoid algae growth or green water. I really wouldn't have bought such a large tank had it not been on sale, but hey why not? For what I would've paid for a smaller one I decided to go for the extra grande! I probably wouldn't have done it again though due to having to move it in my basement and other things I'm worried with in the near future such as leaking or the seal not holding. We shall see. Research your potential fish and don't be afraid to try new things. My initial thought was to get smaller fish but I think cichlids is the way to go for this size tank. My next will house the more docile tropicals.
Fish Kept: One yellow Severum, one green /turquoise Severum, one Tiger Oscar, three electric blue acara, three Jack Dempsey and one questionable that looks like a JD, one flowerhorn, two purple parrot Cichlids, five Blood Parrot Cichlids, three turquoise jewel cichlids, two black convicts, one pink convict, one fire mouth
Corals/Plants: artificial
Tank Size: 150 gallons
Quote: Never try and catch a falling cactus!
