Identification of fish
Hello all! I am trying to identify two fish i purchased. I dont have photos and didnt believe they would be of help anyways. They were purchased under the assumption that they were female odessa barbs {kinda large}. At the lfs as we all know, they hadn't colored up but appeared to be what i was after. After a few days they did begin to, and now they appear to be a mix between the male and the female odessa. They have the finnage of the males {heavy specs, top and bottom, light yellow on top light blue at bottom} but the bodies are somewhat the color of the females, brownish grey but with kind of a blueish purplish hue though from certain angles. Does anybody know what I may have here?? Thanx!

It really is difficult to ID fish without a photo or photos.

Yeah I know, I'll try and get a pic of them but it will probably come out too dark to really see the difference but hopefully not.

They look like Odessa barbs to me
The males may not be settled enough to have their breeding colours out in full force as yet
