Tiger Barb abnormal ?

by flexnbeef

Hi, I was just wondering if my tiger barb is sick or has a mutation. It's a young barb I've had for about a month and when I got it I noticed it didn't have a any tail fins and all it's other fins do not have the orange tint like my other tiger barbs, it also has larger eyes that stick out further on its head and is lighter white in color, It struggles to get around in the current that my tank has because of its lack of fins. It appears well fed and not sickly looking. should I be concerned ?

hard to see the eyes but the lack of color in the fins and overall ghostly apearance is evident

It sounds like genetic abnormalities. Not much you can do about it, except maybe put it in a different tank with less current. Does it get picked on by the other fish?

Thanks , and yes it gets nipped at so I've moved it to my daughters smaller guppy tank.
