Prime is similar to the API stress coat. All of them bind ammonia temporarily, but your nitrosoma bacteria will still feed on the bound product. It does not hurt your fish. The bound prodcut will still show on your test results as ammonia, but it is actually a non toxic version, so no worries there. Continue the water changes and the API stress coat and stop rinsing the filters. Test for Nitrites. You should see them start to spike in a week or two.
