Hi, I got some new tiger barbs on Oct 17 and they've lived up till now but some times they all three school some times one goes into a cave and hangs out then some times they all split apart. What is the matter?

From what I see your plants need low to medium amount of light.
You should probably either get stronger lights or go with only low light plants like Anubias.

Six is the recommended number for Tiger barbs, and pretty much any schooling species. I have 6 Tiger barbs and they school quite a bit.

Sorry to hear that your tiger barb died. I as well started off with three tiger barbs and had the same probelm. Then I noticed that two of them were always fighting. Then I noticed that they started harrassing the third. I looked at them closely and I realized that I had two males to one female. And it was the males that were fighting and harassing the lone female. So when one of them go tired he would go off by himself under a big plant.
I eventually went and got three green barbs and now eveything is great. They all school together and even let my clown loaches school with them as well. I have to say they very interesting fish to watch in the tank as they are the one of the most active fish.
