2 of my hump heads have developed tiny black spots around the face and fins. It dose not look like the spots are raised from the skin. it looks like the black is part of the skin color. it started off as only as has gotten denser particular around the face over the last few days. I can even see little black specs on their eyes.
I have placed the pair in a 20L hospital tank and have been treating with a little aquarium salt and methalyne blue.
i cant seem to find much info on this.
I saw black spot disease on this site but the spots dont look like the picture.

a week in methlyne blue cleared it all up.
Still a little bit of black staining on the skin but they are back in the community tank now.

Is what your describing the same as what you can often see on discus? Sometimes they seem to get black colouration around the head area which does not look like spots on the skin, but more or less part of the skin...do you know what I mean? I've always wondered why discus get this blacking?
