I measured them for the first time (with a drop test), and the gH is 4, the kH is 8. I've read here and from a few other sources about gH and kH, but I'm super new so I'd like your thought about my numbers. My parameters are usually stable around pH 7.7, Ammonia 0, Nitrites 0, Nitrates 5-10ppm. However, tonight my ammonia tested .25-.50ppm. I'm not sure why at all. I did a weekly 15% water change last night, before I knew about the ammonia, and I plan to do a 20% change later tonight. Maybe my kH and gH aren't typical if my ammonia is high? My other parameters are steady as usual. The water is a little cloudy. No deaths, no new fish, no nothing that I can think of.

What do you think of this kH and gH?

It's always possible the test gave you a bad result... maybe do a re-test or try with a different testing kit.
