How can I remove scratches on a tank?

ive tried to remove scratches with a product bought at home depot. it wasnt a good idea. i killed 5 fish the first time thought maybe it wasnt dried enough drained it waited 2 weeks sam problem. now its a snake tank lol. make the scratched one a breeder, hospital or an overflow tank. if it still holds water theres a use for it

I wonder if you could silicon a thin peice of plexiglass or acrylic to the inside, lay the silicone down so you could squeeze all the air out and starting at one end lay or role it down? It may be more trouble than it's worth for a 30 gallon and I don't know how clear silicone is when sandwiched between 2 surfaces either.
It might work. You don't have much to lose but the cost of the peice and the silicone. A hardware store would probably have thin peices for pretty cheap.
