glow fish?

glow fish?
the recently genetically engineered fish that so called glows...does anyone have these? do they actually glow in the dark? if so, i would love to see night time pics.

they are used in water plants... when the amonia or toxic metals are present they will glow a bit... so they treat the water again if they see them glowing...

oh i think they only glow under black light or something. that just adds more expense to them hahahaha.

I just saw some glow fish at Walmart today. They were bright and appeared to be glowing with absolutely no light (they had the lights of in the tanks for some reason). There were pretty small, but I thought they were cool. Just thought i'd mention it.

the ones i saw where tetras... the reason why i asked i think it would be cool to setup my 10 gallon and put it in a bedroom so you could look at them in bed.

I have glowlight tetras, mine glow during the day when the light isnt on, but at night I havent really seen them glow, they are preety fun to watch becasue the school together. I would have got more than 6 for my tank but was the limit per customer...

Glowlight tetras and glofish aren't really the same thing ^^; Glofish are genetically engineered, and come in flourecent red, orange and yellow. A lot of states have banned them. They don't glow in the dark, but most of the websites on them say they do glow under a blacklight.
