I have a lot of Ramhorn snails that do that. Actually, they sail on the current using a long string of mucus. I think it's just trying to go somewhere where there is more food or something. I think it's a way for them to move greater distances than they could by their own locomotion. I doubt it's something to worry about and I'd be surprised if it could eat an amano.

That's a pretty sweet video. You should open up that circus act to the public and make an extra buck :)

PK, I wasn't really concerned about him eating the shrimp, more like slamming down on top of one. =D I was just left wishing he did it from the front like he often does. This leap was pretty impressive (nearly 15" lol) but not quite as clear as some of the other frequent leaps he does more toward the front/center. Just happened to have the camera in hand.
I find myself wondering what goes through his pea-brain as he's plummeting the depths in free-fall, antennas waving fully spread. lol

I was in my lfs this afternoon and was looking at getting a couple mystery snails. I have 3 convict cichlids, a pleco, and a toadfish. Would my convicts be trying to fight them all the time or will they leave them alone like they do with the pleco. They never bother my pleco he just keeps to himself.

PS: Anybody see the size of this snail?

Convicts I'm afraid are out of my...well. I go as far as knowing they're a cichlid? lol Sorry pal, don't know. As far as that snail...holy $#!&. I hope bob never gets that big. I'm willing to bet a convict probably couldn't do too much to that monster..
