Hello,
I have a 44 gallon tank which contains 5 angelfish, 1 clown loach, 1 ghost knifefish and 1 leopard plec. My friend is scrapping their tank and has asked me if i want her golden severum. The golden severum is bigger than my angelfish and i was just wondering if they would be compatible together. I have spoke to a few people about this and abaout half have said they would be fine and the other half has said the will end up killing each other. Does anybody know what would happen?
Cheers
Golden severum and Angelfish?

I've been told my 20 gallon is too small for my two angelfish... i don't have any issues now because they are small... but for your tank that many angelfish with another cichlid might cause them to be territorial... is there plenty of hiding places for the fish? I think compatibility is on the fence, you have to see if they group up against the severum. What is the size of the severum compared to the angels?

the tank does have quite a lot of hiding spaces ( wood, slate, plants etc) and the golden severum is quite a bit larger than my angel fish

i say try it out, worse comes to worse you can return the severum to the store... and get another angel.

update: my rasboras are holding up quite well, they aggressively eat food in the split second it hits the surface, before my angel even sees it hit the water... quite amazing. They get along quite well. I'm happy thus far :)
