I think I have a problem!!!

by cwilkin

I have four dawrf rainbow fish. I thinnk 3 males and 1 female. I have one male that has a stripe from his nose to his top fin. I think he wants to mate with the female. I dont know what I should do, he is being aggressive toward the other males.
A. I have another tank that has Discus should I put the pair in tank?
B. Leave them alone they will be fine.
C. Any other sujjestions?
Please help I dont want my fish to be unhappy!!

Get more females maybe? Have the other males got anywhere they can get away from the dominant? If he isnt doing them any actual physical harm i would leave them be.

Alasse is correct. My dwarf rainbows chase each other around the tank all the time, but no one ever gets bitten or chased to the point of exhaustion. If your rainbows are acting the same as mine, with no one getting injured, there is really no need to worry.

I keep rainbows in the ratio 1 male : 3 females. I find the males are agressive and this evens out the punishment. This is my choice.
