Switching fish, need help please!

by Ryand639878

So tomorrow I am switching the fish in my fish tank. The only problem is that I need to empty all the gravel, scrub the tank etc. before putting my new fish in. First question, How long will the bacteria live on my biowheels/filters if they are in a bucket of water? secondly, which heater do you all like better, the rena smart heater or marineland series? thanks alot guys

I beleive that the bacteria will be fine as long as you leave the wheels in a bucket of old tank water and be sure the bucket has no chemicals in it at all.

As for the heaters I haven't ever noticed a difference between one kind or another. As long as it has the sufficient wattage and is adjustable you should be in the clear.
