I caught these fish in a fresh water costal creek in cairns australia along with some jungle perch. I also saw some mangrove jack, but they where too quick!
I have uploaded pics with this post.
I havent been able to find them in any of my books, the DPI website and went through a bunch of other Aus native websites. got about 6 or 8 of them (5 cm or so)

Found it! salt water fish. size limits apply so i have broken the law by taking these. I will be returning them.

I dont know how big they grow but your not allowed to catch them untill they are 38cm
so too big for the standard aquarium!
I hope they are all right untill i can take them back to creek where i got them on the weekend.

well you could help the greater cause and breed them in captivity then release them into the wild. =)
