A fish cannot live on bread alone
Strange title i know, but anyway im curious. Can you feed fish just freeze dried brine shrimp for their entire lives or will they need more nutrients than the shrimp can provide.

It is recommended that most fish are to be fed a varied diet which will obviously ensure a full range of nutritional requirments are met. However, many aquarists simply use complete flake foods only and the fish live happy lives for many years. Personally I would be careful of too much protein as this causes constipation and bloat in many species of fish so perhaps not shrimp only would not be best. But it also depends on the species of fish you have...

Yeah. Feeding herbivorous fish meaty foods may cause some problems. Generally most tropical community fish will be fine on flake for years, but a balanced diet (provided your fish aren't purely herbivore and proned to bloat) may enhance their longevity.
