Help!

by jweb1369

I woke up this morning to find small string-like things floating all in the tank. I have no idea what it is. They do not look animate like worms or anything, just floating strings... I took a video please check it out.

... Any Ideas though?
I added algaefix to take care of the algae problem I have, I think my light is too bright and is just making the algae grow wild. This might be the result of the algae fix? I have never seen this before, and it is really noticeable up close.

Okay when you watch the video look closer, all that stuff floating around in the first 10 seconds is what I'm talking about. I can see it plain as day on the video.

Probably you need a higher powered filter, that stuff looks ill and needs taking out of the water.
You can probably fix the algae problems with a few ancistrus (bristlenose plecs) and maybe leaving the tank without light for 14hrs a day min.
If you still have that kenyi you'll get trouble with algae friends (maybe the stringy things are tankmate remains>)
Test your water for high nitrate too. If it is high, reduce feed ;)

That looks like the same crap that I was getting in my African tank. Does it almost look like fuzz? I bought a new filter last week, its made to run on a tank twice the size I have and I seem to have gotten rid of the issue.

Yea it looks sort of like white fuzz floating in the water... Anyways, I did a 50% water change today, cleaned all the algae off plants and rocks and glass, trimmed plants. It seems to be all gone.

Btw, my aquaclears should be more than enough. I have a 200 and a 150 on a 30 gallon tank.
