but it is a good thing.
for the last week my plants have blown up.....like growing massive amounts...
my hornwart is growing 4 - 6 inches a day
my ricca which 2 weeks ago i had 2 patches about 6in each
is now covering half of the tank. my amazon sward is sending out chutes every which way i have probally 15 little different plantlets....
same thing with my corkscrew vails......
It is crazy and i haven't changed a thing, .Still the same routine as always
I cant figure this thing out, its not a bad thing
i am either going to have to start selling plants off or something i am running out of room....
growing like weeds......no worse

I know here in Australia (cairns) my plants go nuts in summers and die off a bit in winter.
I dont run a heater in my tank as the temp here is always 25 Celcius plus.
(i did have a water chiller when i had walking fish)
it is going into summer for us now and all my plants are starting to grow at a much quicker rate. it would be going into winter in US for you...and imagine you would have to run a heater...have you been running extra heat in your place becasue its getting cold?

a1k, be happy with that plant life. It looks great. I'd rather have plants growing fast as all heck than extremely slow or dying back
you know part of the job of keeping live plants is to clip them, trim them back - of course clipping or trimming them will make them grow faster ((((smiles)))) but this is part of the course
just be happy - tank oooks really good
you could turn off the lighting a little more each day, it may help slow down the photosynthesis, that is, instead of 10 hours each day (as I do mine), leave the lights on for only 8 hours, it may help...also your roots may be very well spread out, they could be getting plenty nutrients from the gravel, this could also be the cause to the growth explosion...if you put CO2 in, it will probably grow it even faster but most definitely they will oook more greener - only thing is, I wonder if the CO2 will be too much
regardless if it appears right or wrong, just clip or trim the plants, and be very happy that the plants are striving naturally (by the way, I frown upon CO2, I rather go the natural way)
