oppions on largish fish in 18 gallons tank

by j_bball_rox

i was thinking of putting either rainbow fish/ gouramis/ sharks/ or ghostknife fish in my 18 gal tank.

any helpful hints on these fish or opionons on which ones would be better in that size tank.

Thanks, J

You could maybe get two gouramis or something, but they will fight... none of those is really suited to the proper lifestyle in an 18-gallon... sorry. Maybe you can do what I did and get a crawfish... 18 would be plenty for one of those and some Rosie Red minnows for him to munch on.

ya rainbows shraks and especially a ghost knife (min 50 gal) arent great
I dont think there is anything wrong with a gourami
my sister has 1 opaline gourami in a 20 gallon

make it a cardinal tetra tank! A school of about 15 would be cool!

it would be even better with live plants
and they arent hard to take care of, just need money put into them
things like:
-new light (2wpg)
-maybe a new substrate of some liquid or ground fertilizers
-and will have to deal with some algae :@
