Puffer Question.
I have an 8 gallon tank I think maybe 5. Anyways I was thinking about getting 2 figure eight puffers (tetraodon biocellatus). Would 2 of them be a bad idea in such a small tank? Any thoughts?

yea websites say 3". but some sites say atleast a 30 gallon and one says a 15 gallon for one fish.... I know you don't have to listen to them but I dunno. See this is my mothers aquarium and I originally decided to put cardinal tetras in it and then I took her to the pet store today (big mistake). She seen the puffers and was like oh how cool and now wants them instead. After 3 weeks of pH lowering for the super low pH that cardinal tetras like. The pH in the tank now is 6.4 and now if I get the puffers I have to raise the pH back to 7.5-8.2........ I'm kind of mad and thinking of telling her to just stick with the cardinals. What amount of them would you put in an aquarium this size?

Okay so I decided to definately go with the puffer and mixed marine salt into the water. The pH now is around 7.8 I believe and the specific gravity is 1.005 which is pretty good, seems I hit it on the dot. Alright anyone got good suggestions for invert tank mates? I think I'll stock it with its prey too (snails, ghost shrimp, etc..), is it good to keep them stocked at all times? Should I put any other fish with him? If so any suggestions would be great! Thanks.

what is not okay? I have decided I am only going to put 1 puffer if you were refering to putting 2 in the tank.
