Quote: "What was this guy thinking? To own so many tanks is crazy. What kind of a person would want more than one small aquarium in their house?" --Nikolay, sarcastically commenting on a Craigslist ad selling a large number of aquariums
About Yourself: Computer geek, web developer, aspiring engineer, plus a roommate whom I've corrupted and turned into an obsessed fish person like myself.
Advice: Do your research, start with a tank of decent size so you have a margin of error on the chemistry. Get an oversized filter and use only mechanical and biological filter media (no carbon or ammonia removers). Use a plant substrate for the tank and plant heavily from the start. Use CO2 injection, whether homemade or compressed tank. make sure you have enough light, a single bulb is not enough. Research your fish choices to ensure they will get along, not outgrow your tank and don't require special water conditions. Establish and follow a consistent schedule of water changes and fertilizer dosing. Keep notes on what you do and how well it works. You will be rewarded.
Fish Kept: Assorted Discus (Symphysodon aequifasciatus): 3 Red Pidgeon (+5 month-old fry, the rest are in another tank), 2 Wild Green, 1 Snowfire, 1 Blue/Yellow, 1 Turquoise. 12 Congo tetra (Phenacogrammus interruptus), 30 Rasbora espei (Trigonostigma espei), 20 German Blue Ram (Mikrogeophagus ramirezi), 2 Bolivian Rams (Microgeophagus altispinosa), 6 Panda Corydoras (Pandapanzerwels), 8 Clown Loaches (Chromobotia macracantha), 4 Albino Bristlenose (Ancistrus sp Albino), 8 Bristlenose (Ancistrus sp), 12 Otocinclus (Otocinclus affinis), 12 Amano Shrimp (Cardinia Japonica), 1 Bamboo Shrimp (Atyopsis moluccensis)

5 cardinal tetras
1 zebra fish
1 SAE
1 albino sucker fish
lots of plants with some moss.
This is my first tank and it's only 1 weeks old, so be gentle.. It will get better, but I want to slow down so I can get the fish in a scheduled pattern.

About Yourself: my brother gave us a small 50ltr and after about 2-3 weeks we upsized to a 4 foot (200ltr) tank! we've since made good friends with the local aqua store cause we're there so often!
Advice: start with the largest tank possible rather then a small one.....cause you will get 'hooked' and upsize!!
Fish Kept: I'm really a beginner in all this so far, but i can tell you what we have in or 200 litre Mbuna tank so far. *all are male/female couples 2x elec yellow 2x Mpanga 1x male afra cobue (searching for suitable sized female atm) 3x hongi's (2 female 1male) 2x rusty 2x livingstonii (will need there own tank soon too!) 2x cobal blues
Plants Kept: we do have plants although i have no idea what they are! we like the real plants and our fish being about 6-10cm so far they're doing well. I'll find the names and update later
Tank Size: 50
Description: ?? i'll find out and update.
