Advice: An aquarium is not just a pretty decoration for your living room. It is a living, breathing environment and needs proper maintenance to continue thriving. Take the time to do the research and learn how to set up and maintain. Make sure it is done properly, etc. You will be happier in the long run and so will your fish, etc.
Fish Kept: 6 Red Wag Platys - 7 Zebra Danios - 1 Blue Gourami - 1 small Pleco
Plants Kept: 4 live sword plants - a few plastic plants - wood and rock from back yard, boiled several times and soaked over time until leaching stopped. So far no problems with it.

Quote: Im flying it!!!!!!
About Yourself: I used to live in California in the United States but I had to move to Galway in Ireland because of family business. I was forced to sell my 15 gallon fish tank with my beloved goldfish it was very sad as they were 10 years old. I bought a new 17 gallon tank here in Ireland with new goldfish and a algae eaters eater and im flying it!!!!!!! ITS A GREAT HOBBY!!!!!!!!
Advice: Take your time to plan out what type of tank you want and the size. The fish should be evenly matched so one fish doesnt get all the food, get a good filtration pump so it minimizes cleaning also get an oxegen pump and lighting, but most of all have fun and enjoy being a fish keeper.
Fish Kept: My fish are fairly simple to mind but I like them I have a variety of 6 goldfish, 3 white cloud moutain minnow, 4 plecostomuses, 1octomus (algae crew) and 2 weather loach.
Plants Kept: I have various liveing plants with some fake plants and river rocks at the bottom. I recently added bogwood in the centre for natural effect and the fish are thriveing in it .
Tank Size: 17
Description: I own a Orca RA-05 aquarium with 3 stage filtration system sponges-mechanical, bio balls and ceramic rings-biological and carbon-chemical filtration. Its 17gallons and has 2 flourecent tubes for lighting which run at 24w. It contains a pump which pumps 1100L/h specs are 455-490-495mm.

Quote: If you can't ba a good example, be a horrible warning.
About Yourself: I started out in May '06 with Flipper my Fantail. I had gotten him to go in a bowl with a stalk of lucky bamboo. After doing a little reading on Goldfish I upgraded to an Eclipse 5 gallon hexagon. Then for Christmas I got a 20 gallon tank. This is a classic example of how fish are like drugs. Once you start, you have to keep getting bigger and bigger aquariums and more and more fish
Advice: Get the absolute biggest aquarium you can afford and accomadate. Let it run for three or MORE days before you even think of putting a fish in it. Buy yourself a good book and research the fish you want. (Since I started out with a Goldfish I am now VERY limited on what fish I can put with him.) THen add your fish slowly. I know how it is you just want to have a bunch a beautiful fish right away, but wait. It's better in the long run.
Fish Kept: Right now I have one Calico Fantail Goldfish, six Zebra Danios, one Lepard Danio. (He got mixed in with the others by accedent, but gets along fine with his cousins), and one Albino Cory Cat
Plants Kept: I have a couple of lily plants and one bushy plant I'm not sure about
Tank Size: 20
Description: see below

About Yourself: When we lived in Indiana We had a 55 gallon chilid tank. Then moved without the tank ( It help sell the house really) to Missouri. For my birthday I got a 20 gallon freshwater. After a year It hit me that....FRESHWATER FISH HAVE NO COLOR. So I am planning to frag coral to pay for the freshwater and maybe a big saltwater.
Advice: You can study, read, and write about a kind of fish and call your self the master of the fish, But when you buy it and put in the tank is when you know every thing there is to know about that fish.
