About Yourself: it ill started with frederick the goldfish from the fair(now happily donated to the botanic gardens as he grew too big) about 4 years ago who lived in a tiny bowl i then moved upgraded to a 2 foot tank keeping neons, danios and other small fish although hector plector (plec) grew to 13 inches long before sadly he had to be rehomed as he was too big and it didnt seem fair to keep him. i now have got my 4 foot tank which i love, my fish seem to aswell. it has been going since 17/09/09
Advice: if you live near a river, beach or forrest look for some cool fishtank decor its unique and free!
Fish Kept: varioushs cichlids, barbs, loaches, catfish, parrot fish

My 90 x 50 x 50cm tank. Mr. Takashi Amano said that many winning tanks are in this proportion ;-)
Added more driftwood and tied moss to it to give my tank the 'wabi-sabi' look - Japanese aesthetic centered on the acceptance of transience...
Seriously, the moss really give things a more natural look. Man, I am so happy with how things are going here.
Feast your eyes, people ;-)

Advice: I've tried to do planted tanks in the past with regular gravel as substrate, which never turned out well for me (I know plently of people do it, but for whatever reason, it just didn't happen). Now that I do have the "good" susbstrate... it's just a huge difference. Don't let the cost scare you away from the good stuff (IMO - eco-complete is the least messy option).
Fish Kept: 2 pairs of Blue Rams, Neons, Swordtails, 2 female cockatoo cichlids, pleco's.
Plants Kept: Riccia, Various Crypts, red lotus, banana plants, scarlette hygro, vals, java ferns. I don't know all the names. : /
Tank Size: 90
Description: 90 gallon planted. Lighting: JBJ Formosa Power Compact DX Series Double Light/Triple Fan Cooled Lighting System 48" (65W*4)(260 WATTS). Pressurized C02 w/ reactor. Filter: Fluval 405 Canister. Heater: All-Glass Submersible Heater-200 Watt. Substrate: Eco-complete, flourite, pea gravel mix. Ferts: Flourish or Tropica Master Grow. I don't currently do EI, but will begin if/when algae starts to show.

10mo up and running. Had a horrible time with my fish dying then an algae problem. basically gave up and shut everything down to realize that it does much better without me doing anything. So here it is after about 2 months of me not messing with it.
