my old lake malawi setup |
| Quote: |
loose lips sink ships! |
| About Yourself: |
ive gone thru several different setups and still have yet to decide what to do with my most recent. i had a pirahna setup with 8 piranhas about 7 inches each, than i decided to go with lake malawi cichlids and oscars, and now ive fallen in love with african peacocks and am still trying to see what to do with the decorations in my tank to best match their colors and needs. |
| Advice: |
filtration and lighting makes all the difference in the world. keep your tank clean and filtered at all times and chose a light best suiting ur tank setup and fish. |

| Advice: |
Im still starting out myself but its ok to just go to wal-mart and buy a starter tank. The more you are active in the operating of your little tank the more you will learn and the more you will want to step it up. |

This tank has been filled using hand crafted pieces of pottery which are hollow and provide ample hiding places for the occupants.
The lighting is achieved using seventeen super bright white L.E.D.'s mounted into a custom lid.
The tataouine-esque feel to the tank has led to the introduction of several star wars characters. An interesting concept, the fish seem to love chewbacca! |

| About Yourself: |
If you have any questions or suggestions please feel free to email me at mrwiked28@sbcglobal.net.
I have been keeping fish and turtles for many years, I have two turtles who live in 75 gallon tank everything is custom, I even designed and built the filter for it, do not have to do water changes for at least 6 months and only do so to clean algae, other than that the water is crystal clear at all times, and I have two (one very large) very happy turtles. |
| Advice: |
Just keep trying it will all work out |

| About Yourself: |
This is my first African Tank. Kept some Oscars and Severums back in the day(1991-93), but I was moving all the time, and left my tank with an apartment mgr. so I didnt have to move it again. Been pretty lucky with this tank, as I have not lost any fish yet.(Except for the three Leopard Danios that were in there to start the cycling). I think the female Johanni got them. Hope you guys like my setup, I am always open to new ideas, so if anyone has a suggestion, let me hear it. I am considering a cannister filter in the future, but I think what I have now will suffice. Maybe some better lighting as well.
