Quote: "Just keep swimming!"
About Yourself: I have switched from african and south american cichlids, to more docile fish, yes i know discus are cichlids, lol well i am more than just dabbling these days in planted aquariums, lol anything worth doing is worth doing right and with your foot to the floor so to speak, patience is key but don't be afraid once you have a properly cycled tank to add as many plants as you can properly sustain.
Advice: read, read, and read some more, don't go into anything blindly, the more knowledgeable you are the better off you are going to be and the less money you will waste. take your time and work up to it!

LOL ok sorry just had to do it.

About Yourself: I started out with just goldfish until a friend of mine got an oscar and then I was hooked when I saw that you could feed them worms and shrimp and grasshoppers and that they actually have some personality. My name is Chelsey and I am 22, I live in British Columbia Canada, and I have had my oscars for about 5 months now they are my favorite.
Advice: I always hear about people not sure of what to use for the substrate, sand is good and so are rocks but for me personally I use marbles..they are so easy to clean and my fish can move them and pick food from between them very easily. Also when I use my fish vacuum the marbles move really easy out of the way and I never have to replace anything.
Fish Kept: I first wanted to say that I have 4 oscars and I am well aware that they need bigger tanks than the ones I have now, but aquariums are expensive so down the road I will be able to put them in bigger tanks. So the fish I have in the 10 gallon are 2 angel fish, 3 tiger barbs(yeah I know they shouldn't be together but all is well for now) and 2 aqautic frogs and 2 little sucker fish. In my 20 gallon I have a lemon oscar and a lutino oscar (they might be a pair I am hoping) and one danio he is too fast to be eaten and a pleco. And lastly in the 30 gallon I have way to many fish living in there together but I will be getting a new tank soon so in there is a red oscar and another lutino oscar, a gold severum, a snowwhite cichlid, a chinese algae eater and 2 plecos.
Plants Kept: I do not keep real plants cause I know that my oscars will destroy them, I just use fake ones, I have some that glow in the dark, but really that does not do anything for the fish...my husband thought they were cool.
Tank Size: 30
Description: I can't remember exact dimensions of the tank. They are all an aqua-tech tank and it came with all the supplies I needed. For now I have a 10, 20, and 30 gallon tanks.
