Advice: 86ºF seems to work great with plants and Discus. Water changes should be done regularly. More often if you don't have sufficient filteration. Discus require a very clean environment. 10k Metal Halide lighting seems to work great for plants.
Fish Kept: There are two larger Red Turquoise Discus and one new baby Brilliant Turquoise Discus. One Ornate Cory Cat and one Skunk Cory Cat (bottom feeders-great vacuum for discus!). Two Orange Bee Shrimp.
Plants Kept: There are many assortments of plants that I've tried to include in this tank. Amazon swords, Hornwort, Telanthera Rosefolia, Ludwigia Peruensis, and Wendtii Bronze are just a few. There are many more to come!
Tank Size: 45
Description: I believe the tank measures 12x38x23. The stand is custom built by Allen Brothers (716-381-3520). There were six different kinds of woods used in the construction of this stand. (Red mahogany, maple, brazilian cherry, american cherry, pine and various cuts of oak.) There will also be panes of frosted glass inserted in the centers of all the doors as well as on the sides of the stand and canopy. There will also be lights installed in the stand so when both the canopy and stand lights are illuminated, they will shine through the frosted glass. I am currently using a 50/50 (6000k/Actinic) and a 10000k Metal Halide. I find the actinic tends to bring out the vibrant shades of blues and violets often lost with basic lighting. For filtration I am temporarily using a 400 series Emperor. I plan to upgrade to the Magnum 350 Bio Pro System.

Quote: Research your fish, Google It!
Advice: Research your fish...not all cichlids can live/thrive together. S/C American cichlids are not compatible with African cichlids. For many reasons! Google It!! 1g per 1" of small fish....so if a Betta gets 3" full grown he should be in at least a 3g tank
Fish Kept: Angelfish, keyhole cichlids, Datnoids 4 fancy plecos, 2 BN Plecos, common pleco, Mixed African cichlids, Otos
Tank Size: 120
Description: OUR TANKS: 120g, 2/33, 15, 2/12g, 25g...more to come

Quote: One is never enough....
About Yourself: I got into the hobby originally because my old man had an empty tank built into the wall when he bought this new house, which had a painting covering it up. I eventually convinced him it was a good idea to put some fish in it as long as i looked after it.... This wasn't too long ago - maybe November 2007 - since then i've swapped so many different fish with mate of mine, i cant keep up! But i think i've settled with these lil Fronts - good looking lil suckers =) I have 2 tanks - the smaller 90ltr and a larger 150ltr (the one in the wall - although it LOOKS larger than 150ltrs when looking at the 90 next to it - although measurements and aquarium calculators tell me otherwise) The larger tank houses 7x clown loaches, 1x Sailfin Pleco and 2x red devils - a male and a female =)
Advice: Don't be lazy or impatient? I'm new too! -lol-
