My new Rio 400, 5 feet, 400ltr thats soon to house Lake malawi's (Mbuna) Need to rehome the fish i inherited with the tank ( 1 Tilapia buttikoferi 9') 2 Blood parrots, 1 plec, and some ugly looking catfish (tank buster apparently when fully grown) all going on 25th feb 2010, 1st Mbuna's going in same day.

Coral Gravel, Ocean rock (more needed so i can get the ship out) a couple of pieces of slate and 2 plastic plants to break up the colour

Filtered by juwel internal powerhead at 1000lph
Fluval 405 at 1300lph
and another 405 to be added in the next few days

Total volume will be filtered at 9 times an hour due to Mbuna's been messy and the need to overstock to spread aggression.

More pic's to follow in the next few days when i pick up the Malawis

Quote: It ain't about how hard ya hit. It's about how hard you can get it and keep moving forward. How much you can take and keep moving forward. That's how winning is done! Now if you know what you're worth then go out and get what you're worth. Rocky

About Yourself: I have been an aquarium lover since a young child. I have had many aquariums over the past 30 years. This one is one of my favorites. I am a teacher. I have passed on my love of the environment to my students.

Advice: I suggest to research and to love your fish : )

Fish Kept: I have 4 Mono Argentus, 4 Silver Scats, 2 Figure 8 Puffers, 1 Archer Fish, and some Mollies. My puffers are very docile and have never tried to eat any of my fish.

Plants Kept: I have found it difficult to keep live plants in this tank. My Scats are very hungry.

Tank Size: 46

Description: This is a brackish water tank. I keep the salinity toward the higher end....more like a light marine condition. My fish seem to be happier with a higher salinity level, even the mollies.
