This is my current 55G African Mbuna Tank. They are all moving into a 120G very soon, but, I really love this 55! Labidochromis Caeruleus, Melanochromis cyaneorhabdos, and Pseudotropheus saulosi, with a Rubber Lip Pleco. Very active tank. |

Water Changes. You have to remove water. Change water. And remember to do regular water changes! |

| Description: |
African Cichlids, Mbuna Variety. Lake Malawi. This is a standard 55G tank, 4 feet long, 18 inches high and 12 inches deep. I have a very large Biotower, with roughly 4 gallons of BioBalls, and a 30 gallon sump on this tank. Pump is 600GPH, and I use a siphon overflow to feed it. Also have a RENA Smartfilter HOB for added Chemical and Mechanical Filtration. All the rocks are plain river rock, and the fake plants are for me.

Ok this design has been on here before couldnt decide which i liked better between the root design and the Sunken Ship design pictured ,I just got a new camera and what a difference a camera makes. The sunken Ship is my favorite setup ,I like it even better than the natural root setup that was #2 for the month. pictured in additional tanks. What you guys think between the two ? |

The African Mbuna's. Electric Yellows, Ps. Acei and Red Zebra's. |
| About Yourself: |
I had a fish tank when my kids were little, but they were "kid" tanks, with all the colors. A year ago my son gave me his 20 gallon setup and I made it into a natural one, like I had always wanted. The fish bug bit! I then got another tank with Birchardies, then a few weeks ago still another! I can't seem to stop! But I love them so much and they are so fascinating to watch. |
| Advice: |
Read all you can about a type of fish you are thinking about! Do your research first!!
If you need to keep the Ph high, try putting crushed coral in jars at the back of the tank and mesh bags of it in the filters. Or use as substrate. |
| Fish Kept: |
2 Bolivian Rams, 2 African Dwarf Frogs, 2 Fancy Guppies, 2 Oto Cats, 4 Electric Yellow labs, 4 Acei's, 4 Red Zebra and a good number of fry all the time. |

| Tank Size: |
