| Shedd Aquarium is world's largest indoor aquarium. Opened in 1929, it is one of the oldest public aquariums in the world. Although many of the exhibits are saltwater, the Amazon Rising: Seasons of the River exhibit is an excellent freshwater display. Open year round.
