I have been triing to figure out a good type of bottom feeder for my 10 gal tank that will be housing my guppy fry. Any suggestions. there isn't that much information i could find on the smaller bottom feeders. found lots on the bigger ones thou that doesn't help.

Otto catfish are awesome, and only get a few inches long. Like corys though, they need to be in a small shaol, 3 will do.

Ottos will eat algae like no other fish that size, simply put.

Corys though, will eat leftover food much better. It's really a question of what you want/need in your tank. ^^

Amano/Cherry shrimp make an excellent cleanup crew, won't (unless in the event of a freak accident) attack your fry, and have a very low impact on bio-load. Amanos are better algae eaters then cherry shrimp, but will eat a variety of things.

i think corydoras would be your best choice, sometimes shrimp will eat small fishes such as your fry....at least that is what i have read.

Shrimp in general such as ghost may, but rarely ever will a cherry or amano go after fry, furthermore sucessfully, unless they're half starved. If little to no natural food sources such as algae are present, micro wafers, flakes, bloodworms, and a variety of other foods will satisfy a shrimp far before a fast-moving fry.
