...well MANY MANY thanks to all who swear by RO water..as I have posted, I found it at wally world and have been useing it for 3 weeks now..... and will never go back, lol

the tank has cleared up amazingly ...the brown diatom algae comes in very lightly during the day when the white lights are on but is getting less and less ...................I used to blow this crap off everyday sometimes a couple times a day...........now i hit it every 4-5 days just to keep the liverock clean

the liverock is starting to show some nice color, greens, purples etc etc...

the water is clear enough now that I can see the detail on the live rock again ...and today I noticed a few little.."bugs" - -they are very tiny and resemble a cross between a shrimp and a potatoe bug {if you all know what they are, lol} are these copepods? baby shrimp? something that wil grow up and be dangerous, lol - -i know bugs are good but I'm just curious on others thoughts....................Snowboss

i gots the bugs myself, they are anthropods and copods. do you have an LED flashlight? when you turn ur lights off at night, wait 10 min, and shine it on the glass of the tank. you will see them in a big group around the light, like mesquitos. if you do it long enough, your fish get a free meal!lol

but in dat case...i have heard that nothing compares to actual ocean water :) u can pick it up @ pet stores. its real ocean water so u have to mix nothing..just preheat and put it in the tank. das wat i use for my water changes. and use RO as top off water. my lvls have been as stable as ever with those two kinds of water.
