My fire goby is missing. I'm new at this. Is this common? I basically took apart my rocks, checked the filter and it is gone. I have a pygmy angel, jawfish, clown, sandsifting starfish, and a diamond goby. Any ideas? I'm pissed, because I took apart my structure and everything! Any advice would help. I would go put out signs in my neighborhood but I don't think he's gotten that far.lol.

Sorry for your loss. Do you have cats?
When I had my 10g setup at my old house my 1 cat used to get back by the filter and stick her paw like half way in the tank.
Thankfully they know better to get on my tank now after the 1 cracked the glass in my hood on my 29g.
Damn cats!

Tarpon.....sorry to hear about the MIA Goby........couple things, do you have a cover of some sort on the tank? goby's and blennies are notorious for jumping.....and they can hit that little hole between a couple different pieces of equipment......like it was a target....... also, when they do get out they can dehidrate to almost nothing so keep a good eye out, unfortunately if you have ripped the tank apart and sifted the substrate, he most likely is a dead fish., check under filter return lips, backside of the heater, etc etc thats not a fat fish, he can hide in a shadow... you would be amazed at where them lil buggers can hide in the tank.......good luck we're all hopeing for the best for you, Snowboss

yea fire gobys are jumpers for sure.usualy they get scared when the light come on and theres no other light on in the room first. also fire gobts like to be out in the open and dont hide much. unless they are being picked on by other fish.check your filters thats a good idea..and good luck
