I never tried this chemi pure, but it sure seems like agood stuff after I done some research. Im thinkin about setting up one to my 10G canister, replace the carbon bags with this stuff. Is this stuff really as good as they say it is?Which size should I get, the 5 or the 10Oz. I couldn't figured out which ones the one treats up to 40G.. How big is it, sorta' like those phosphate bags? Answer me fast, cause i'm getting excited..lol..
i just put a 12 oz bag in mine yesterday says up to 40 gallons for 5-8 months, it's chemi-pure "elite" sposed to take out silica and phosphate as well as everything else it does........mine cost 18 bucks at the LFS just for referance

DH - i don't think it's carbon more like ferrous Iron - - it does a lot for trace elements and water cleaning more so than water polishing like carbon ....IMO I wouldn't remove your carbon, I just moved the carbon bag over nd put this next to it in the filter - -I can say holy crap it works though ...lol in a matter of hours I can see that my skimmer needs to be adjusted again as it doesn't have anything to foam up with - - -bubbles just cut right down to pure white anf she's running quiet - - -will do some fine tuning tomorrow
