i have a 55 gallon saltwater and was wondering how much filtration i need. this is what im currently running. 2 hang on regent 30-60 filters a odyssea ps 75 skimmer and a marineland 350 canister. is this too much???? it has been running for 5 mos now and im not seeing much coriline algae. does over filtration prevent coraline algae???? tried ading purple up every other week and its not doing anything that i can see.(didnt want to over do the purple up not sure of it yet). it says to do it no more than once daily
what kind of lights do you have? also what is your calcium/alkilinity at? 2 much carbon will remove some trace elements. but with water changes that should not be a issue.i never used purpleup , i used bionc 2 part, i could not stop the coriline
