ok guys..so here goes..i think this is a great question for some of us who arent tooooo familiar wit keepin a reef. well. basically theres tons and tons of different supplemtents we can use for the reef tank..forthe corals and for the invertebrates. im talkin about trace elements and such. like iondine. strontium. or wateva u call dat crap lol. calcium...its hard to keep up which we need and which we dont..could anyone put together a list of all the trace elements and supplements we should have.?
These 3 are the only ones you will need to supplement if you have enough LPS, SPS, Clams or other inverts that use them up to grow their shells or skeletons.
Also, you only need to add these if the growth of the Coral and inverts uses these 3 up more than what is being replenished by water changes.
It also depends on the salt mix used. A good reef salt usually won't need buffering of any of these 3 while a salt like Instant Ocean will need Calcium and Mag to be boosted right away.
