I somehow inherited an African Dwarf Frog (ADF), which I'm not familiar with and don't know how to care for. I have found a few articles online, but not much. The only thing I have to put him in is a simple 2.5 gallon glass tank, no filter, and a heater that only heats to about 74 degrees. I have to use things I already have in order to care for him, as spending money on this little guy is probably out of the question.

I'm mostly concerned about water quality. There is no filter. The only things I already have for him include: the little glass tank, smallish gravel, artificial plants including a small floater, may Black Diamond Charcoal, a small flat heater (74 degrees and can't adjust), and water dechlorinater.

I don't have an existing fish tank suitable to meet his needs or I'd drop him in one of those with the fish. I'd like to provide a bigger space, filtration, more heat, and better water quality. I'm wondering if the charcoal I already have for fish tanks would help. And my only choice, I believe, would be to float it. .

My Questions:
1. Would the charcoal help?
2. I'm out of charcoal bags...if the charcoal would help, is there anything creative I can put the charcoal in?
3. Do you know of any online resources that provide information for caring for ADF's?
