go to walmart for the fixture, i paid 10.00 for a 48in fixture. and i like to order the bulbs online, i use petsolutions, they are the cheapest ive seen for bulbs
wait so if you got the walmart fixture and bulbs from petsolutions would you be able to have adequate lighting for acropora and montipora?? and also how much would the cost sum up to?
right now i have i 10,000k bulb and a blue antic bulb, and i have sponges and stuff growing out now.(not exactaly sure what it is)i think thats more of a Q for the SALTWATERPIMP, he knows coral the best
pimps gone for the week ....guess he thought he desirved a vacation, lol - -whatever fixture you get the amount of light varys from fish {don't really need a specific amount of light, flouresents will work fine] to soft corals, polips, shrooms etc at 3-5 watts per gallon. to Lps corals, or hard corals, clams etc etc -now your getting into the 5-8 + watts per gallon - - ive also heard that depth of water is critical as well - - 12-15 inches of water is the base number on light - - the deeper you go the more watts you need to penetrate ...hence the reason for intense metal halide fixtures . . .i guess we would need your tank depth and what type of corals you are shooting for to get a closer number and recomendation for you.
