SSHHHHHHHHHH right now I'm just useing tap water lol.[i did test it with my salt water testing stuff and it is pretty neutral, we're lucky in this part of the woods most people in this area have very good well water]..I havn't heard back from my plumber customer yet on the RO system options...hmmmmmmmm as a matter of fact he owes me some money for plowing, might try to get ahold of him this weekend.....will post any info i come across
i am too. our water looks fine...i put some conditioner thats all at this point for top off....let me know when you find out about the ro unit..thanks ..
I miss that well water from my dad's artesian well. It just constantly flows out of a hose all the time, and that's all I used to use, no conditioner, nothing. I was doing fresh water though.
wait... you guy's actually get well water...??? that must be awesome...
our city says that we get well water, but i still have .75 ppm chlorine, .24 ppm amonia, and 7.7 PH coming out of our tap... i have to use prime... and hopefully when i get my SW tank running it will be enough... but only the test will tell...
Im in brooklyn,NY...I use prime as well. But after reading and reading, your right...only time will tell. If my params are always in check and I notice fish are stressed I will trouble shoot starting with my water supply. I will then invest in an RO/DI unit, but untill then conditioner it is. I guess over the long run the amount of money you spend on prime will eventually equal what an ro unit will cost.
