i have power compacts but i want the best there is. what is the best?i have a 37 gal that is 30 in |
|
power compacts are nice! |

if you are willing to spend the money, metal halides are the srtongest.they will run you anywhere from $200 to $1000. but if you want to try and raise clams or hard corals, specifically sps, then they are essential. |

nah go with T5 HO, i have a 38 gallon reef also, i did alot of research and it was difficult finding a halide fixture to fit the dimensions of such a small tank. so i picked up some T5's for around $250 to replace my power compacts and i couldnt be happier they produce more lumens than your pc's so all your photosynthetic plants/corals have this nice new glow about them, and it seems my coralline is spreading quicker |

i want to start getting into sps corals so i think im gonna go with the mh but thanks for everyone input |
|
i would say mh 2 , but t5 would also work fine for some sps. your water has got to flawless for sps. for maximum growth/health |
