Can anyone share there DIY moon light ideas with me. I'm just looking for something dim, but noticable. Also if I were to use one on my 75 gallon cichlid tank, would it cause anything like algae problems ? Thanks !! |

I like the moon it gives a sence of peace to you and the fish. ONe combo I do is you may get a light that has 2 differnt types of light because there may be time when you wont it to be bright or at night winddown. I know you can have timers for lights like have different cyles like morning a blue the light then blue. I dont know mush about light so I hoped it helped |

If you consider yourself handy you can pick up a couple of LED light with some resistors. They run pretty cheap, I'd say like 10 bucks in total. Then wire them to a 6V-12V transfomer which you can then hook up to any wall outlet. The only problem I had was figuring out how to attach it to my hood. I eventually drilled a couple of holes in a PVC pipe ran all my lights through it and then braced that to my hood. |

How do you wire in the resistors?

Not sure what strength resistor. The guy at the store just kind of put it all together for me. I was going to use a 12V transformer but the guy gave me a 6v. I tried the 12V that I had at home but it seemed to bright. I will try to post pic later on today. |
