Hello. A nice tank mate for a Jack Dempsey is a Green or Red Terror. My personal favorite is a Jaguar (Parachromis managuense), but your tank is too small. If you get a 6-8" pleco, you should be fine with algae. My personal favorite is sand, btw. |

yeah, any american cichilid would do fine but like Dogg said your tank is to small to have a jack & others. The Jack is pretty peacefull and with any other cichilid IF kept in a large tank (150 gallons). I dont know about a pleco, It would do fine if you had a bigger tank but I think It would get to much of a beaten if in a 30-40 tank. I would start a big comm. with tetras, cories, mollies, gouramis, etc. YOu could have one pretty tank. |

well, as most tankers know, jacks grow slow, from what ive heard at least. my plan is to start 1 or 2 of the electric blues in this tank. then down the road, move em into a bigger tank. I have no idea what i want to do right now honestly. i had a comm tank before, but want something new |
