I had made this wet/dry sump some time back out of another tank I had lying around and the overflow was done with cpvc and a plastic container....it works pretty good especially for the cost and what it is....it has a surface skimmer and all....the only problem is that when I built it I used so 3/4" pipe and the gph wasn't high enough and I haven't gotten around to doing another one out of 1" pipe....so yesterday I was out riding my bike and went passed the lfs and per usual in the spring/summer they had their 75% off racks outside....they always have aquarium stuff on there so of course I stop to check it out and found a Marineland Tidepool S.O.S. silent overflow skimmer that handles 600gph....the original price tag said $101.99 the 75% off price was about $30 w/tax and the the lady let me have it for $20 out the door....I was so stoked, I love stumbling across great deals when least expect it:)
