i have an african planted tank and over the last month i have noticed a layer of protien on the surface of the water and i have an old red sea skimmer from another tank can i use it on my fresh water tank ?
it's probably oil from the fish food or something... i would get some surface aggitation going on... lower the tank's level or add some air bubbles... you could also take it off using paper towels...
That's a neat find gumbii. I hate bubblers. The only one I have now is one of those hydor arios (fully submersed) makes no freaking noise. Could I run that attatchment off a spraybar?
