Clear Slime on Bamboo Skewer Scaffolding

by kelv1983

Please help, is this slime safe? (See youtube video:)

I made some bamboo skewer (used for BBQs) scaffolding because my plants were leaning over towards the light. But first of all I tested 3 skewers away from my plants for 24 hours and I've just noticed they have slime on. I disturbed some of the slime and I didn't notice where it came from originally and scooped it away with a net. The slime is clear (although it looks green in the pic but thats just a reflection). I forgot to boil the skewers but I did a little research and people have used them without treating them in aquariums and they have been fine. Considering we eat from these I didn't think they would be harmful. The slime is only on the 3 pieces holding the slate rock up and its NOT on the scaffolding bamboo next to the plants. Any advice please?

Pics coming soon. It says file is too big grrrr
