Hi there,

Thanks in advance for any help or advice. I have a zoanthid coral that has been in the tank about 1 month. Recently some of the larger polyps are turning white, and the coral is staying closed more frequently. My spotted mandarin goby does seem to be picking at the coral occasionally. The ammonia and nitrites are at 0.2 and 0.0 (so obviously not perfect) and I am working on remedying that with bio stabilizer and time. In the meantime however, how do I know if my zoanthid is dying? What can I do to cure it, if anything?

dead giveaway. your tank is not cycled and on top of that, your fish is picking at them. not that you can stop the fish or anything. any other chemicals you pour in there is just going to make it worse. you need water changes if their is ammonia. you know when they are dying when they turn white and stay closed. oh, you might see them release slime too.

I've been doing a 10% water change weekly. Is this enough or should I be doing more? If I need to be doing more, how much more and how (10% one day, 10% another...20% one day??) Thanks again
