Do you have a common pleco? If so they can get over a foot long within a year or two (depending on how big/old it is now), already far surpassing a 26 gallon tanks bioload. Silver (aka Bala) sharks can get just as big and grow at a similar rate to the pleco if memory serves me correctly. I unfortunately do not know as much about cichlids or loaches, but I'm sure josmoloco (rmft's local cichlid expert it seems) will give you quite the lecture on them when he comes across this thread. Depending on how big your fish are now, your tank could already be overloaded. You will have to get a bigger tank in the very near future, even if you get rid of some of those fish.

clown loaches will grow to about 6" and the silver sharks abput 12".

Tell me why did you get all these fish and know they were to outgrow the tank?

i know i pretty much had the same fish and they outgrew my 36 gallon real fast. my water strated to turn green. it was awful...if you need to upgrade your tank search craigslist for a fish tank in your area...thats where i will be getting my new tank come friday...70 gallon full saltwater setup for 200 bucs u can beat that...i have also seen alot of 55 gallon tanks goin for around 100 bucs with all the filters heaters and fish

I have three bala sharks and 5 clown loaches in a 40 gallon tank since Aug of last year.I am currently looking to upgrade to 100 gallon or more.. Dont kid yourself, the silver sharks grow very fast while the loaches have gotten a bigger but mostly thicker instead of longer.(That what she said...) lol.

They will quickly outgrow your tanks so I would suggest to go at least 75 if you cant go 100 gallon. Minimum..

Nice set-up, must look good too. As soon as those ciclids and plecostomus and sharks get too big, move them out. The clown loaches are gems. If you can get those juviniles to live and thrive they are your keepers. They still will want some more room in the long run. They will put up with your other fish for quite a while just fine. Did you give them some hiding spaces?

Firemouths will outgrow a 26 gallon in a few months.. like most fish, their growth rate is relative to how much and how frequently you feed them.
