Photo #1 - 110 Gallon African Cichlid Aquarium

More Info

State: New York
Country: United States
Description: This is my 110 gallon African cichlid aquarium. This aquarium is filtered with a Fluval FX5. I use Chemipure Elite in the filter to maintain clarity and to keep algae under control and I swear by it. I also have an Aqua Clear power head and a Hydor fan to aid in water circulation. I use a rather deep base of Carib-Sea substrate. My fish seem to enjoy the small granulars while constantly digging caves. I have a great deal ofnatural rocks and resin tree stumps that create numerous caves and hiding places which are absolutely necessary for African cichlids. My favorite part of my aquarium is by far the lighting. I use a 4 foot Current Satellite + Pro LED light. This light is loaded with features (too many to mention) but you can fully customize brightness and colors that will bring out different colors in your fish.
Advice: If you are a beginner in the hobby or just prefer to have a rather large aquarium packed with fish,African Cichlids are the way to go. The best part is my maintenance is reduced to an absolute minimum. I do a 25-30% water change once a month. Sometimes I won't touch it for 6 weeks and I have now problems with it.
Corals/Plants: My plants are plastic. Lol
Tank Size: 110 gallons
