State: Pennsylvania
Country: United States
Description: We have a 10 gallon Oak Creek Tank, with a Whisper 5-15 filtration system and fluorescent light and hood. We also have a Top Fin submersible heater set at about 78-80 degrees.
Advice: Do your homework, ESTABLISH YOUR TANK at least a week prior to introducing the fish. ADD ONLY ONE AND TWO FISH AT A TIME. Adding too many fish at the same time can make the ammonia levels skyrocket in the tank, thus killing the fish!
Fish Kept: It all started with our red Betta (Mr. Betta). Since then, we have added a Marigold Sword-tail (Dennis), a Dalmation Mollie (Molly), a Dwarf Gourami (Julius), a Chinese Sucker fish (Sally), 2) yellow Snails (Gary and Yoda) and a black Snail (un-named)
Corals/Plants: We currently only have artificial plants, but to add live plants after getting more experience and education.
Tank Size: 10 gallons
About Yourself: We are a small family living in a apartment that does not allow cats or dogs. Because we wanted some type of pet for our 5 year old son, Nolan, we decided fish were the best option. It has been a wonderful experience of education for the whole family, and we are now fish hobbyists.
