| Photo caption: | A close-up of my 28 gallon. The fish that are hiding include 2 Swordtails, 4 Guppies, 3 Black Neon Tetras, and one female Betta. | Description: | Perfecto 36 gallon glass bow front, 30L x 20H x 13D, 2 Penguin 150s, heater at 77-80 degrees. Small-sized black gravel with an artificial piece of rock/driftwood combination, 36" artificial floater, and densely planted artificial greenery. | Advice: | Start slowly, buy the biggest tank you can properly support (weight/dimension wise) in your home, thoroughly research the fish's wants/needs before you buy them, and consider fishless cycling as a humane option. | Fish: | 36 gallon tank: Four Guppies, one Dwarf Neon Rainbowfish, three Black Neon Tetras, one female Betta...for now.
20 gallon tank: My Q tank. It currently has 3 young Zebra Danios preparing for the 36 gallon tank. Will get 3 more of them in a few days to make a nice school.
3 gallon tank:one African Dwarf Frog (Wayne)
Hex 5 gallon: one male Veil Tail Betta (Marvin)
6.6 gallon long: one male Half Moon Betta (Barricuda)
| Corals/Plants: | All of mine are artificial. I recently started the hobby and I'm not up to keeping live plants. My tank is made to look as natural as possible, it is dense with tall dark green across the back with a smattering of lt. green, red and yellow, a 36" floater, and a few short or creeper plants up front. This is about the only thing I got right the first time. | Quote: | Is that a dorsal fin I see behind you? | About Yourself: | I live in Southern California and am a psychotherapist. I'm passionate about animal welfare, my work, golf, my 4 dogs and 6 cats, and now my fish. But not in that order!
I don't remember why I got my first Betta about 3 years ago, but that got me hooked on having at least one Betta nearby. In recently learning that keeping Bettas in vases is actually cruel, I was exposed to the fish/aquarium hobby, fell in love with it, and got a real tank. Now I can't keep my arm out of it or my eyes off it. | The Average Score for this tank is: 5.36.

| Photo caption: | This is Finley, my beautiful 2.5" Crowntail Male Betta. He's very friendly and active. Little guy is always swimming and showing off.
Update: He unexpectedly died about 2 months after this picture was taken, looks like it might have been a tumor. He was great, and this pic reached #2 overall. He's famous. :) |

| Photo caption: | My Betta, Finley. He is always showing off his colors and crowntail fins. His iridescence shows up well in this photo.
Ok, in retrospect, an awful lot of photos of this Betta! I've had many, and he was the best. But really, I do have other fish... |
